I think everyone has to have it – the panic about the weather when you’re planning to be outside for long periods of time. And since we’re having our engagement pictures this afternoon, of course the weather as of last night was: “A chance of snow before 10am, then a chance of rain and snow between 10am and 1pm, then a chance of rain after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 45. East wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.” Short version: rain/snow/rain with chilly wind, and here we wanted to have the majority of our pictures done outside!
But it’s okay, or at least, we’ll do our best to make it so. After all, sunny weather isn’t required for perfect pictures! Bluster worked for Pooh! Maybe there will be some cool cloud formations, or the sunlight will be just diffused enough. Maybe the wind will blow my hair and scarf in a fun way. Maybe we can get some cool umbrella pictures. And if we have to, we can find lots of picturesque places that are out of the elements. We could get cupcakes (mmm, cupcakes) or go to a little tavern nearby, or we could go to the library. We could probably find some decent enough spots inside our own house.
And no matter what, the pictures will be better than our standard hold-the-camera-out-and-aim shot.
So deep breath, you goofy girl, and remember that nothing happens without a reason.
